Warm and comfortable under bike helmet
I bought this cap to wear under my bike helmet on cold weather mornings and it's great. I think it is a little pricey for a beanie but nothing like it was available for less.

Armed robber makes off from Dara's with cash
In the Oct. 4 armed robbery at Community First National Bank, police described the suspect as a white male, 5'8" to 5'10", wearing sunglasses, a light-colored beanie and a winter jacket. They said he handed bank employees a note demanding money and flashed a gun in his waistband. Authorities said he fled with an undisclosed amount of cash.
The second robbery occurred at Kansas State Bank, 555 Poyntz Ave., on Nov 17. Police said the suspect was described to them as a white male, approximately 5'7" to 5'8", 160 to 170 pounds, wearing a dark shiny coat, black beanie, sunglasses and jeans. They said he gave the teller a note demanding money and then fled the bank on foot, heading southeast. Police said he did not display a weapon.
The third robbery took place on Monday at the Walgreens, 325 Bluemont Ave., at about 8:30 a.m. Police said they were alerted to the robbery by store management, who reported that a white male, about 6 feet, 190 pounds, wearing faded jeans, a black beanie, black jacket and black gloves, had walked into the store and communicated to employees that he was going to rob the place.

Even in the height of summer the Cairngorm plateau can be a pretty inhospitable place; when the wind picks up and from October to April I’ll generally carry a spare hat in case of loss; a balaclava is a good option for the coldest weather. As with all items of outdoor equipment there are some decidedly outlandish designs out there, but the helmet-compatible, unpretentious and simple beanie remains my favoured design. Lightweight, packable and often one-size-fits-all, in this article I’m going to look at a few variations on this apparently simple design as well as a couple of alternatives for beanie-haters.

I’d suggest that few manufacturers are making use of possum in their garments, but judging by this hat they’re missing a trick. Happy sheep or not, this is the warmest hat by far it’s also pretty unsophisticated, consisting of a sealed cylinder of fabric folded into itself with enough fabric left to form a generous turn-up and stretch down to the bottom of my neck. The lack of through-stitching prevents cold spots but can cause the two layers to move independently of each other. As you can see from the photo it’s really function over form and there is certainly an element of fisherman to the hat – though I suppose North Sea trawlermen know a thing or two about keeping warm. Hmmm….
