Travellers handmade donations

AT the recent National Rally for the Campervan and Motor Home Club of Australia (CMCA), which was held during mid-October in Kalgoorlie, volunteers from the club donated a box of knee rugs and beanies which had been knitted, crocheted and quilted to the Moora Hospital and aged-care facility.

Thelma Maher and husband Brian, who are members of the CMCA were in Kalgoorlie for the rally and offered to bring the rugs back to Moora and present them to the hospital.

Over the past eight years over 100 volunteer ladies from the CMCA club have supplied materials and donated 4,447 hand-made beanies, bags for scans and knee rugs.

Mrs Maher said these are distributed among 24 hospitals and nursing homes of which 15 are Recreational Vehicle (RV) friendly towns.

Moora is an RV friendly town.

Acting director of nursing at the Moora Hospital Shell Farley thanked Mrs Maher for the donation on behalf of volunteers from the CMCA.
