Customer Reviews:
  1. Fits BMW Filter Covers too!
This cast aluminum filter cover wrench fits the cover used on BMW N54 & N55 engines. It's a quality die casting and well finished so should last forever. A much better tool then the cheap plastic or stamped sheet metal wrenches found at discount auto stores. As a bonus, it has a beautiful,...
  2. Works Great
Exactly as advertised! Amazing how much easier a job is with the right tool. Changing oil on a 2002 Volvo S40 was made much easier with the proper oil filter wrench to remove the oil filter. Where previous oil change jobs resulted in no filter change, this took a matter of minutes to remove.

"We are the mods", a transnational history of a youth subculture
"We are the mods", a transnational history of a youth subculture He, too, was wearing a flat cap and jeans. At one point, two rows of girls wearing more 1950s-versus 1960s- style dresses dance in synchronized, ...

Drawing on archival research, oral history interviews, and participant observation, this examination of the adoption and adaptation of Mod style across geographic space also maps its various interpretations over time, from the early 1960s to the present. The book traces the Mod youth culture from its genesis in the dimly lit clubs of London's Soho, where it began as a way for young people to reconfigure modernity after the chaos of World War II, to its contemporary, country-specific expressions. By examining Mod culture in the United States, Germany, and Japan alongside the United Kingdom, «We Are the Mods contrasts the postwar development of Mod in those countries that lost the war with those that won. The book illuminates the culture's fashion, music, iconography, and gender aesthetics, to create a compelling portrait of a transnational subculture.

Behind the scenes of theatrical productions: A look at the design of hair and ...

Need a crazy wig? A fake nose? Want realistic-looking facial hair or to convince people that you're 50 years older than you really are? No problem. At least not for Molly Hill Pack, a senior in the theater program at Utah State, who specializes in hair and makeup for theatrical productions.

Pack started her career at USU as a visual arts major. "I've always just loved art, and everything to do with art," she said. A fan of the "Lord of the Rings" and especially the special effect makeup used in the films, Pack's interests evolved to hair and makeup design, and she switched to a theater major with an emphasis in costume design. "It was a way for me to be working with other people and still be working with my hands artistically," she said. "And I just fell in love with it once I started doing it."

Although there is one theatrical hair and makeup class taught at USU, Pack said she learned most of what she knows through workshops outside of school. For her hair and makeup design in USU's productions of "Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street" and "Seussical the Musical," Pack won a trip to Washington, D.C., two years in a row to compete on the national level with the American College Theater Festival. There she attended a week's worth of workshops, learning new techniques from professionals in the field. At the conference, she presented her work with the USU theater department, competing against other talented artists across the country. For her work with "Seussical the Musical," Pack was a national runner-up and won her own professional makeup kit to take home.

the kindness of strangers… - Ricardo Pinto - Blog

I’m in Kermanshah at the moment where it is raining gorbehah and sagah. To be able to inflict this (feeble) joke on you, I wanted to confirm what “cat” was in Persian and, since my bad pronunciation wasn’t doing it, and because my taxi driver’s English was rudimentary, I had to resort to making animal noises and feline impersonation (worse than rudimentary, I’m afraid). After an embarrassingly long period attempting this he suggested, cooly, in English: Cat? At which point we both dissolved into raucous laughter.

Now I’m telling you this to give you an indication of what my day to day experience is like encountering Iranians. Whether in groups or alone, young or old, male or female; I almost always get the same reaction: faces brighten with delight and, beaming, they try what English they have on me – and if they have none, they try Persian, or mime. They ask me where I come from and how I am liking Iran. At some point they always welcome me to their country. On several occasions I have been invited to be a guest in their homes....
