Rally keeps Trappers in hunt for first-round bye

Flavio Salmeron and Alan DaCosta each added goals as the Trappers fought back from a 2-1 halftime deficit on Saturday.

As a team, the Trappers outshot LCCC by a 21-18 count in a game that was extremely physical. Match officials handed out seven yellow cards in the contest, four to Northwest and three to LCCC. The Trappers were forced to finish the game a man short after Anthony Orozco was sent off with a red card amidst the flurry of second-half activity.

DaCosta assisted on two of the Trappers’ five goals. Adrian Elicerio and Cesar Canales also picked up assists for Northwest, which also had one unassisted goal in the contest.

The victory was one of two recorded last week by the Trapper men. The team also hosted Western Wyoming on Wednesday and took a measure of revenge for an earlier defeat with a 2-1 victory over the Mustangs.

Medeiros and Dean Johnson each scored as the Trappers scored once in each half. DaCosta had the only assist in the game for Northwest.
