HARRISBURG - Pennsylvania Game Commission officials said bear hunters will be able to enjoy a new four-day statewide bear season, in addition to a full-week of archery bear season and a return of extended bear seasons in certain Wildlife Management Units (WMUs) during the first week of the firearms deer season.
The statewide archery bear season, which will be held Nov. 14-18, will lead up to the four-day statewide bear season, which will open on Saturday, Nov. 19, and then run from Monday through Wednesday, Nov. 21- 23. The extended bear seasons will be held in certain WMUs and portions of WMUs the following week during deer season.
In WMUs 3D, 4C, 4D, 4E, 5B and 5C, an extended bear season is open Nov. 30-Dec. 3. An extended bear season also will be held Nov. 28-Dec. 3 in the following:
- All of WMUs 3A and 3C;
- Portions of WMU 3B, that are East of Rt. 14 from Troy to Canton, East of Rt. 154 from Canton to Rt. 220 at Laporte and East of Rt. 42 from Laporte to Rt. 118, and that portion of 4E, East of Rt.

I am a doctor. I recommend Trapper Hats for those who have cold problems. As far as I am concerned, Trapper hats are the best during the winter to save us from the cold. They cover our ears very well. Our ears are normally naked. We use long jacket, pull over and many other things to keep ourselves warm. We have to wear those during the winter. We shouldn’t take any chance during the winter. But please don’t forget to protect your ears. Make sure you cover your ears well. You get cold through your ears. When you wear trapper hats they cover your ears so nicely that you don’t have to worry about your ears.
Every year during the winter I get a lot of patients. They come with different problems like flu, fever, Pneumonia etc. We can be safe from those diseases by wearing right clothes and trapper hats. So don’t take a chance this winter. Have the best protection. Choose Trapper hat as one of your protection.

Trapper hats are the traditional style of hat that was worn by fur trappers that have been brought up to date. They consist of a fur cap with a small peak and built in ear muffs, which can be fastened under the chin. The ear muffs are designed to be either worn down around the ears or tied back out of the way on top of the hat. Some trapper hats have a secondary ear flap built in to allow only the actual ear to be exposed, so that you can listen out for animals and drop the flap back quickly when you are done.
