Old School Cool
Maybe not so "Old School" anymore since lots of people wear these now...but still the hat was in great shape! The weave is solid, the band is fantastic with a great colors. First day I wore it got lots of comments! Very cool, if not so old school anymore.

We all understand that ladies rock style. We can not help it. We just take pride in our look and ensure that we look and feel our very best continuously. We do not get it done to draw awareness to ourselves (nicely not generally), we do not do it to win the hearts of other people (ok perhaps from time to time) but we primarily get it done for ourselves. Giddy Up! It’s time to crack those whips and pull on your pumps because the Melbourne Spring Racing Carnival is upon us!
I was lucky enough to head down to the fashionable city for Derby Day which is the first day of the racing season and the only day where strict Black and White dress code applies. Well, strict for everyone but the stunning Dita Von Teese who wowed the crowd in a smoking figure hugging red dress. After raining all week, Melbourne turned on an the sunshine for the Derby and between the frozen cocktails and the fashion on the field, my girlfriends and I were in the spirit…and then some.
Although I didn’t bet (I’ve come to know that my apparently ‘not so fool’ proof method of picking a winning purely based on which horses name is the prettiest, is an epic fail) my girlfriends and I participated in the many other awesome activities Flemington had on offer. Yellowglen champagne had a beautiful two story ‘Bubbly Bar’ which boasted breath-taking views of the whole racecourse which we enjoyed with a glass of the good stuff. Fashions on the Field was hosted by Fifi Box and while the girls rocked the catwalk in a range of originally made and decadent designer duds, it was the boys who stole the show. Introduced by the delicious Chris Smith, my heart melted when third place went to a smartly dressed senior gentleman in a cute Trilby hat and colourful tie. Awww.
