I’ve decided to do an investigation on the world of fashion in Ireland via the internet. I wanted to find out more about the people “Behind the Blog”. Expose their secrets to success, confessions, wants and ambitions for the future. Can you make a living out of sitting behind a laptop screen posting pictures of your burnt breakfast eggs, your newly bought hat, videos of your favourite upcoming bands? I guess you can! Meet Andrea Horan and Matt Matheson from Dublin Streets.
Andrea and Matt were “sick of -tanned blondes wearing glitzy diamante dresses hogging all the kudos for style in Dublin and wanted somewhere to show off the city’s truly amazing unique style”. Since their success they have made the cut in French Vogue’s top 45 street style blogs, featured in NY Times Style Magazine, Elle, French Glamour and every Irish magazine imaginable! Dublin Streets attracts around 60,000 visitors daily and is continuing to take over and spread Dublin’s love for Fashion....

Wednesday night saw the launch of Ireland’s first burlesque festival get underway in Harry’s on the Green, which had been transformed into a sparkly, decadent speakeasy for the occasion. Bartenders decked out in trilby hats, braces and bow ties were slinging cocktails named after the Dublin burlesque scene’s brightest stars while scarlet corset clad usherettes welcomed guests at the door. On the night, we were treated to a taste of what the upcoming festival has in store, compered by Dominique DiVine and kicked off with a fan dance by the radiant Epiphany deMeanour , wriggling out of her slinky white dress to a gorgeous version of the Mad Men theme tune . The diva stylings of Kristin Kapelli followed, where she belted out When You’re Good To Mama Go on...say something...
