UFC 138: Brad "One Punch" Pickett aiming to impress on home soil

Earning his nickname ‘One Punch’ for the heavy hands that helped him rack up a number of TKO wins in the early days of Cage Rage, the Londoner was far from just a brawler – though the traits are certainly there. Travelling out to American Top Team, Pickett quickly made a name for himself as the UK’s most dominant featherweight.

“Training with guys like Mike Brown on a daily basis their skills really rub off on you. Rolling with better guys and wrestling at that level you have to pick it up pretty fast,” says the 32-year old.

“In the US there are so many different styles, every wrestler is different. You learn so much more when you’re exposed to that level of talent.”

Mixing his training between ATT in Florida and Team Titan in London under the tutelage of Mickey Papas, Brad soon found himself competing against the best of the best in the WEC as a bantamweight. In his debut he also got to show off the submission skills that make his moniker somewhat misleading. Brad is both a brutal puncher as well as a slick submission wrestler.

This article will look at the history of men’s hats and the hat’s place in modern society. Here we go… Ever since ancient times, men have worn hats. To keep the sun off, to keep warm, to look fashionable or to add a few inches of height to their stumpy frames....
